History of Kinder Kids

In July 1990 a group of ‘like minded’ parents wanted a Pre-School that would support children’s learning and development in a constructive way before school entry.

Kinder Kids Pre-School began on the 1st October 1990. This was run by a steering committee and opened to any child one year before school entry. Its aims were to offer a balanced variety of activities from ‘free play’ to more structured activities to develop all areas of learning.

St Matthew’s Church hall was hired initially for two sessions per week then increased as demand grew.

A car boot sale / stall at the Sheepdog Trials raised £130.00 which was used to purchase equipment. Other grants were applied for to support Kinder Kids.

Kinder Kids Pre-School joined the PPA (Pre-School Playgroups Association) and registered with relevant bodies.

Twenty five years later Kinder Kids Pre-School is a thriving Pre-School where learning is fun.
